4-H of Pima County
4-H is the youth
development program of the United States Department of
Agriculture and in Pima County is in conjunction with
the University of Arizona. 4-H is the largest youth
development program in the country. Their educational
programs are available to thousands of youth through
schools
and their county extension
offices.
4-H provides hands-on leaning, reaches diverse
audiences and provides life skills including building
self confidence, learning to make decisions,
developing an inquiring mind, relating to others, and
developing a concern for the community. Their
curricula is designed to make adult volunteerism easy
and to promote inter-generational learning.
