The All Souls Procession amulet, always and forever – 100% Donated
The wheel has turned another rotation and it’s time again for The Day of the Dead. Dia de los Muertos. A time to remember and celebrate. The shift from grief to appreciation is absolutely possible and the All Souls Procession makes it even easier.
Here in Tucson, we benefit from a three decade history of this event. It is inspiring and colorful and as touching as it is fierce. And the story can’t be told any better than by the founders themselves at the All Souls website.
Nadia Hagen and her Pyrotechnic Theatre Company Flam-Chen have lit up Tucson with an artistic, creative force that is second to none. I believe it was the New Yorker or maybe the Chicago Times that said Flam-Chen was “…like Cirque du Soleil, but with fire instead of money.” That offers a glimpse into this incredible performance art troupe. Nadia is the artistic director of the All Souls, the director of Flam-Chen and the artist behind the skull pendant created by A Nice World. The silver-plated fundraiser pendant bears an image taken directly from Nadia’s original digital drawing, which is an homage to the Urn itself, shown here in the background. As our 2015 Key Nonprofit Partner, every year since then and forever more, 100% of sales will benefit the cause.
Nadia is the reason I am a fire performance artist and I’m proud to say I have performed in the All Souls Procession in 2005 back when it was a teeny affair of fewer than 10K people. There were only a dozen or so of us performers on one small scaffolding. Now, the ranks of those processing and attending the event are well over 100K. Check out the gallery and you’ll begin to see why.
Perusing these images will uplift and support your journey as you focus on the light and joy to celebrate the memories and embrace the mystery of our celestial adventures ahead. Follow the All Souls Procession live stream from all corners of the world and please click their SHOP button to order an amulet, support and donate!
