Another new beginning in 2022 and reason to feast, learn and celebrate. It begins today, February 1 and culminates on February 15 with the lantern festival.
For me, the learning is the best part. (Well, ok maybe also the celebrating and the feasting too.) To learn more, begin online with a visit to Chinese New Year .net, quoted below. On this site, you’ll discover an abundance of information, starting with the fact that 2022 is the year of the Tiger. Specifically, the Water Tiger.
At Chinese New Year, I envision the year ahead filled with events, outcomes and a focus similar to the characteristics of the Chinese New Year animal.
Nice Synchronicity
“Tigers are vigorous and ambitious, daring and courageous, enthusiastic and generous, self-confident with a sense of justice and a commitment to help others for the greater good.” That bodes well for 2022 and A Nice World! How will you bring the Tiger traits alive in 2022?
“Tigers possess great tenacity. A Tiger needs a domain to be truly in possession of their power.” I’m using that Tiger-striped motivation to fine tune and polish the A Nice World web domain – nice timing!
“Their ambitions run sky-high and Tigers will never treat them as pipe dreams. They are adventurers with the courage to be a pioneer in the line of work they choose. They work tirelessly to realize their dream of changing the world in some way, one step at a time.” Wow this is truly a year made for giving back and bringing great change through our vocations and avocations. Yay for A Nice World. Rahhhrrr!!
Celebrate and Connect
If your city or town has a local Chinese or Asian market, stop by and say hello. They’ll be delighted that you care about Chinese New Year. Stroll the gorgeous red decorations, pick up a red lantern, red envelopes for gifts and buy some fake paper money to burn in honor of your deceased loved ones.
Here in Tucson, AZ we’re very familiar with the traditions of honoring our ancestors, as regular observers of Mexican Day of the Dead traditions through our All Souls Procession. It’s a great satisfaction to connect with offerings and appreciations to our ancestors in the afterlife. Personally, this tradition means so much to me and I have dear memories of observing Ancestor’s Day in China, on Easter in fact, my #1 holiday to remember and honor my Mom.
Lucky Gold Boomerang
In honor of the new beginning, we’re offering 7 Nice bracelets made with semi-precious Tiger Eye beads for just $11.11 each. The gemstone choice is an obvious one. The price at $11.11 is for a new beginning and priced to buy to share. Seven a lucky number for the Water Tiger and it’s also a “Half Nice Dozen” which of course is 14. Each bracelet features a lucky golden bronze Nice boomerang.
When they’re all purchased or gifted, we’ll do a drawing from among the orders and a lucky winner will receive a 14k gold Nice boomerang for a lucky year ahead.
So, read up on the Tiger, bring those great qualities to yourself and your year. Eat a few juicy dumplings, celebrate the season with fresh spring rolls, add a few Chinese sweets and remember the ones you love in this great unbroken circle. Happy Chinese New Year!
