All Souls Procession Pendant – Not for Sale, but Forever Burning Bright

A tribute to one of Tucson’s most powerful traditions, this pendant honors the All Souls Procession—an annual gathering of remembrance, creativity, and community, that has grown from just 20 people to more than 100,000 participants. I’ve never missed it since 1997 (except the COVID year, and once while in Kenya), and my connection runs deep—from learning fire dancing with Flam Chen founder and Artistic Director Nadia Hagen, to performing in the 2006 finale high above the crowd, to helping build the original metal urn.

This piece was a successful fundraising effort to keep the Procession thriving. For a long time it was the #1 seller on their website and I'm so proud to have donated 100 profit from every sale.

In fact I have a bit of a history with All Souls fundraising. I’ve hosted at-home houseparty fundraisers raising a quick $1K based on Nadia's hand drawn inkings. I also created a collaboration with Buffalo Exchange on wearable art, with Nadia and two other artists painting clothing at a late night fundraiser.

Is all to support this sacred space of collective memory and celebration. Today, I walk each year carrying my handmade collage of beloved souls to add to the urn, watching it rise and burn in a crane-lit farewell to the night.

This pendant holds a story of fire, art, and honoring those we love. And I love that so much.
