Forever Pink Ribbons – A Hand-Sculpted Breast Cancer Tribute in Silver
I’ll never forget the first time I encountered a Susan G. Komen Foundation’s pink ribbon. As a longtime cause marketer, I immediately recognized it as a stroke of genius—they struck pink gold. It was so much more than a symbol. It was an invitation: to raise awareness, create connection, build community, and inspire action.
At the time, I dreamed up ideas to help support the cause—like an all-pink pack of Lifesavers for October. A sweet, literal take on saving lives. I wrote to both Lifesavers and Komen with fundraising concepts involving limited-edition packs and product collaborations designed to benefit breast cancer awareness.
While those ideas didn’t launch, something else did: this Forever Ribbon series.
Each ring and pendant was hand-sculpted in precious metal clay, then kiln-fired into solid silver. Some are set with pink cubic zirconia stones—others are plain, smooth silver. All are infused with intention. These delicate pieces were made to be worn every day—as a silent strength, a daily focus object, and a tactile reminder of hope and resilience.
I love imagining the wearers rubbing the ribbon pattern on their ring for comfort, or tracing its softly curved, intertwined ribbon again and again. These three remaining pieces are the last of the full collection—and they will remain with me, a permanent part of this Nice & Not for Sale story.
About the Nice & Not for Sale Collection
Some things in life - and at A Nice World - aren’t for sale. It might be because they’re too sentimental, or one of a kind, or available exclusively through our beneficiaries. Or maybe they were made for a world (Burning Man) where nothing is for sale.
